Phantom based quality assurance for long-term stability and inter-scanner compatibility in T1, T2 and T2* measurements

Background The quantitative measurement T1, T2 and T2* relaxation parameters is prone to numerous physical variables related scanner performance installation environment. Thus, it important verify that measured are inter-scanner compatible there no drift in values over time. Purpose In this study, we produced a phantom for parameter measurements. With phantom, long-time stability comparison were studied with preliminary quality assurance protocol. Methods A cylindrical 16 inserts filled ammonium iron(II) ((NH4)2Fe(SO4)2 · 6H2O) doped gel was produced. (NH4)2Fe(SO4)2 concentrations from 0,0119 mmol/g 0,5498 mmol/g, corresponding approximate T1 10–1030 ms, 16–78 ms 5–61 ms. quarterly one-year period three scanners two different vendors follow compatibility. used imaging sequences included MOLLI -based sequence, prep multi-echo echo sequence calculation.
